Craftology Crafting lounge & learning center in Historic Fair Oaks Village

This 12 month class beginning in September 2011 will explore new art journaling techniques each month, lead by artist Karen Brooks. Resist techniques, making pockets, rubbings, hidden secrets & self portraits are just a few that you will use. Karen’s writing prompts provided will have you recording your thoughts and ideas in no time. During the first class you will start by making the actual journal. You can join this class at any time but please talk to us first.Once you try this class you will want to repeat it each year. You will be delighted and inspired by Karen’s creativity, encouragement and enthusiasm as you journey through the making of your journal.

Each student is required to purchase the paper used for the journal at Craftology and to bring the following art/tool kit with them to each class:

• Writing utensils (pencils, pens, micron pens, magic markers, copic markers, gelly rolls, etc.)
• Scissors
• Ruler
• Permanent black ink pad (Staz-on)
• Flat paint brush #14 and #16 (and other favorites)
• Water container (old reusable margarine or yogurt container)
• Glue (preferably gel matte medium)
• Water spritz bottle (small is fine)
• 2 old rags
• Wax paper
• Alphabet stamp set (your choice but should be about 1 inch size) OPTIONAL
• Apron or wear old clothes

Some of these items are available for sale at Craftology. You may not use ALL supplies each month but please bring them to every class. Some classes may require personal ephemera, tools or art supplies but you will be notified in advance.
